How it Works
It’s excellent that you want to jump for charity! Hopefully this page will explain the whole process easily and simply so that you can keep track, plan ahead and know exactly what’s happening!
Step 1 - Decide to do it
We really hope that you take this step. To raise money for charity is an amazing thing not just for the charity but for you as well, not only will you be blown away (metaphorically) by the experience you'll also benefit from adding it to a CV etc.
Step 2 – Choose a Charity
We have plenty of charities which we support and work with and the list is growing all the time! If you click this link then you can view the charities we support. Or if you’ve been put in touch by a university of other separate organisation have a look for your project. Find the charity which you want to jump for and support. If you can’t find the one you want to jump for then you can suggest another charity to jump for.
Step 3 – Sign Up!
Click the link below and fill in your details in the boxes. There is a £60 deposit which lets us book you on the day you want to dive. Sometimes charities suggest a day and location where and when everyone can dive. The sign up process will then move on to the information that you’ll need. Simply download them and read them over to get everything you need. You can always browse the website or get in contact if you’re stuck. The packs will also have sponsor forms so that you can start fundraising straight away!
Step 4 – Fundraising!
If you are jumping in order to raise funds for charity and wish your costs to be recovered from sponsorship raise (so the experience won't cost you anything), you must agree to raise the minimum amount of sponsorship money (decided by the individual charities). Thus you’ll need to get fundraising! We have created a fundraising page to offer some basic advice and ideas. The best advice is to simply go for it and just keep asking everyone you can! Remember that charities can only work if they receive money from people like you so please try and get as much as you can.
You must pay the remainder of the cost of the jump (£180) to JumpMAD a minimum of 1 working week prior to your jump. We will send you reminders before this cut off date.
Step 5 – The Jump…
You’ll have to arrange your own transport to the dropzone (unless the charity has something set up) but as you can pick where to dive from it shouldn’t be too far. If you get stuck then just get in contact. You’ll need to get to the dropzone on time and with all your paperwork (provided during sign up process). Then you'll be trained and given the safety information, and when you're ready, taken to the plane for your jump!
Make the jump! Love the Jump! It’s a phenomenal experience, you will not regret doing it!
Step 6 – Collection
Now comes the hard bit! Remember if people have pledged it, they owe it. You’re collecting for charity so make sure you get it all! You can always hope to gain a little bit more when they actually give it. We ask (as is stated in the Terms & Conditions) that you collect and then transfer them to us or the charity which you are supporting (will be JumpMAD unless told otherwise in the personalised information) all sponsor monies within 4 weeks after your jump.
Step 7 – Enjoy
Congratulations, you will have made it through an awesome experience and raised loads of money for charity! Sit back with that feeling that you really have made a difference. You’ll feel the change, and people will see it too! If you ever want to try out some solo jumps or know anyone who wants to follow in your footsteps just put them in touch!
