Jump MAD Summary
- Jump for free when you raise a minimum sponsorship level set by the charity you'll be jumping for. This means if you raise a certain amount then you can use some of the sponsor money to completely pay for your dive. As long as you raise enough it won't cost you a penny. However, if you don’t make this amount you have to make the difference up yourself. Having said this, it is relatively easy; if you give forms to parents/relatives/friends and ask them to ask around their workplaces and colleagues, the possibilities go on.
- There will be groups jumping constantly through the year although the later into the year you leave it, the riskier the weather gets. The skydiving centres generally close for the winter due to the bad weather.
- The jump will be worth the experience, confidence, challenge, exhilaration that you receive from the whole process.
- The instructors are highly experienced and have an extremely good track record. All the dropzones used are regulated by the BPA – British Parachute Association. You can choose to jump Solo or Tandem.
- Parachutes are fitted with an automatic reserve parachute opening device for added peace of mind.
- Jumps will be made from 10,000-13,000ft and you will reach 120mph in freefall lasting about 50 seconds.
- There is a little training required which is done the same day - the dive is extremely safe. You may also be given an opportunity to steer once the parachute is deployed (depending on conditions).
- The equipment is all first class and provided on the day, goggles are available for glasses and contact lenses wearers. All divers are covered by third party insurance as soon as they are on the airfield. Further insurance can be purchased if this makes you feel more comfortable.
- Anyone wishing to come and watch you dive will be very welcome.
- If under 18 years old, all you need is a parental and medical consent form to enable you to jump too!
- A non-refundable deposit of £60 will be paid by participants as part of the sign-up process to secure your place. If weather postpones the dive, a new date will be arranged at no extra cost.
- Wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes such as trainers.
- Do not consume alcohol after midnight the day before.
- A Certificate will be presented to you to prove you have made the dive
- JumpMAD does all the organisational work for you; please help us and the charities you’re supporting by spreading the word, getting more people involved.
NB. You dive entirely at your own risk. JumpMAD cannot be held responsible for any problems, injuries or difficulties which may occur. Furthermore, if for any reason you withdraw from the dive without 72 hours advance warning the dropzone will charge an additional £50 administration fee to rebook.
