What is JumpMAD?

JumpMAD (Jump to Make A Difference) is a business dedicated to helping charities fundraise by organizing skydiving events for them. Our mission is to facilitate fundraising for charities by organising skydiving opportunities combined with the provision of a high quality, personalised and flexible service. We are absolutely committed to the charities which we support and work for.

How does it work?

People can skydive for "free" if they raise a level of sponsorship decided by the charity. If they reach this minimum level they can use some of that sponsorship to pay for their dive. If they can't gain sponsorship they make up the difference themselves. This guarantees that you, as the charity, gain the minimum amount of funding per jumper.

For example - if the jumper raises a minimum of £400, normally about £240 of that pays for the dive, guaranteeing you £160 per person. In our experience, the average amount collected through sponsorship per dive is just under £550, however this depends on the enthusiasm of the marketing and of the jumper for your charity. If 15 people jump raising this average they will raise £5000 for your charity.

What do you need to do?

We normally use a charity contact who'll need to spread the word and advertise the opportunity to go skydiving, even if only via email, newsletters etc. (which we have drafts/templates for). You provide our contact details in this information and people who want to jump then contact us and book up to jump for your charity. The more you advertise the more people will jump for you! We'll help you in any way we can to spread the word and add information and links for your charity to our website.

What does the charity get out of it?

The most obvious gain is the funding from those who are raising sponsorship for you. You can market the opportunity as much or as little as you wish so the time committed to the opportunity is up to you. Everything else is offered as part of our service, even following people up after the jump to collect the pledged sponsorship.

We use the discount gained by our organisation of big groups jumping at drop zones as our commission. This means that you are gaining the jumps at the same cost as you would if you organised it individually. We've seen sizable additional charges on top of the jump cost to book a dive, but JumpMAD is in business to break even and maximise our support of charities, not to make money.

Our side of the bargain...

We dedicate a member of staff to each charity, so they can personally get to know what your charity stands for and relay that on to any jumpers. This also means our staff are always up to date on how the groups diving for your charity are progressing. They will gladly report any changes as often as you wish. The service we offer will do all the administration and organisational work to put skydiving groups together for your charity.

We'll meet with you to answer any questions you have, go over what will happen, and work out what we can offer you. We'll then help draw up a plan to market the opportunity to those connected in some way to the charity so we start fundraising! We'll keep you updated as often as you wish and hope to build on our work together for future ventures.
